These items are used 5" tall steel reeds. They are a mix off carbon and stainless steel, with either epoxy or pitch-bound construction. Reeds may require cleaning to remove dirt, oil and/or light rust. Epoxy reeds will have a plastic strip on top and bottom. Pitch-bound reeds will have tape bindings on top and bottom. Repair of tape bindings may be necessary with duct tape. Generally, we try to weed out any reeds with significant damage, heavy rust or pitting, and pitch bindings that are not easily repaired with a quick taping.
Reeds can be cut to length with a hack or band saw.
